This is our InfoTech Solutions quarterly newsletter - Issue 1

The purpose if this email is to just achieve few things with regards to our valued InfoTech Solutions customers:

Why do we publish this newsletter?

  • To remind our customers of some of the steps that they would need to undertake to make sure that their computer systems are working well and not suffering for any hardware or software issues that ultimately do cause performance decrease:
    1. Run your diagnostics software to try nipping any issue in the bud before it gets your whole system unstable and prevent you from doing any work at all.
    2. Update your anti-virus definitions and run a MANDATORY scan of your whole system and try to remove the viruses if they happen to infect your system.
    3. Update your spy ware software and scan your system and remove any spy ware or ad ware that might be slowing your system to a crawl. You don’t need to blame it on the age of your laptop or desktop. Sometimes the fix can be just a quick scan of your system.
    4. Defrag your hard drive. This software is available for free and does come with your Windows XP. (Email me and let me show you how to undertake that step.) The defrag process is VERY time consuming and it may take hours if have a lots of data on the hard drive that you want defragmenter. So schedule things accordingly and be PATIENT!
    5. Backup your business critical data. Just do NOT delay till tomorrow. Recovering lost data can cost b/w $500 and $2000. I am not exaggerating! Please feel free to ask us how to set up a back up strategy for both your personal data and office data.
    6. Check if the ventilation at the back of your system is not clogged with dust. If it is the case, please clean it as soon as possible. You might need to open your box to remove all the dust from inside the desktop. With the summer and the excess heat, processors and motherboards get excessively hot and they might easily get damaged. The lack of air flow can cause serious overheating of your system and it may “destroy” the whole system and force you to replace the whole motherboard and processor which cost lots of money.
  • To let our customer base know of some of the new products we are adding to our service list:
    1. We have started building desktops from scratch in both our San Francisco and Concord offices. This whole idea came up as many of our customers have suggested that we do just that. They were very pleased with the systems we initially built for them. So we are customizing desktops according to our customers needs. Our desktops do cost a little bit more than what you might get from Dell or HP or other manufacturers. The simple reason is that we do make sure that the parts we get to build our desktops are the most reliable ones in the market. This is why our entire desktops do come with a 24 months hardware warranty and a 90 days software warranty. The starting price of our desktops is $499.99. Furthermore, we will be more than happy to set the desktop up for you at either your home or office free of any charge something which big manufacturers hardly ever do. Since we opened our facility here in San Francisco some 8 months ago, we have sold around 90 desktops to our customers, from home users to small business users. We do build from 4 to 5desktops per month. Not bad for a small business like ours!
    2. We do also specialize in refurbished IBM laptops. They all come with a solid warranty from 30 days to 240 days. All the laptops have been tested by our QA people and we will never sell something that is defective. Our customers are more important to us than make a profit by selling defective laptops. The starting price on our IBM laptop is $499.99 all the wayup to$1499. Please email me if you want me to send you the pictures as well us the specs of each and every IBM ThinkPad Series.
    3. We are encouraging our customers to purchase backup devices. They cost (between the external enclosure and the hard drive) around the $200. We do put them together for our customers free of any charge because we want our customersto avoid losing their data. We are confident that they will trust our decisions and give us more business down the road. We get the parts courtesy from us.We do not charge a service fee for getting the computer parts. But we do try to get parts that are not necessarily cheaper ones because our goal is long term and we would like our customers to have a peace of mind when it comes to investing in newcomputer parts that they are not very familiar with. This is why most ofour customersdo trust the IT decisions we make on their behalf when they are inquiring about new products for their home or business. So please take the time to BACK UP your data or ask to schedule a “hands on” class to learn how to protect your data.
  • To try to encourage our customers to get in touch with us if they need any assistance.
    1. We do work by referrals and that’s how we have been doing so well. So we ask from our customers to help referring people to us. We have serviced 1000 customers since we opened our facility and we only got just one complaint. So our record is solid and our 13 years of IT experience is paying off.
    2. In the next few weeks, we are building what we call an FTP Server that will allow us to help you even more. In this FTP server, there will be lots of data that will absolutely be helpful to you. It will also have anti virus software, weekly anti virus definitions, spy ware, ad aware software and HP printer driversetc. We will gladly let our customers use this site for free for now. It will eventually have some applications that our customers would need like Microsoft products, some audio players, video players, some games and some diagnostics tools. This service will be free any charge for the next 12 months and after that there will be a small monthly or yearly fee that you will have to pay to access that very secure website. So if you don’t like to look for all your device drivers, updates for your system software and applications, printers, palm pilots etc., this site will be for people like you. You definitely won’t need to go to each company web site and look for your device drivers there or updates for their systems, printers, palm pilots etc., we will have all for you at our FTP Site.
    3. We also design websites and have been working on a huge web design project for a customer of us in the Los Angeles Area. We can design web sites for our out of state customers as well. So we are not confined to just the Bay Area even if most our customers are located in a 50 miles radius of San Francisco.
    4. We have started teaching computer elementary classes to our customers who are trying to keep up with the technology. So from learning how to navigate/browse your system to specific application we are sure to have a class for you. While we are happy to teach people at either their home office, we highly encourage them to take the class here at our office as most of the class is “hands on” and it does help to have all the tools available for both the instructor and the students for demonstration purposes. So let’s us get you up to speed with the Information Technology so that you can learn how to do the basic things from paying your bills online to sending pictures to  creating databases and running reports and why not learn how to program as well ?!!! We do have LCD projector screens and we can introduce you to any operating system software or any application of your choosing. We do have a number of consultants that are willing to help and work around your schedule. The classes are morning classes. We are working on having afternoon and evening classes either here at our office or at your office/home.
    5. We do design and customize networks to fit in for either your home or business. We do build Servers for those who like to have a dedicated machine to access the data centrally. We can also set you up with wireless connections and wireless printing as well.
    6. Our last but not least piece of info would be to make sure that our customers understand our business approach. Our strength is POST SALE or POST SERVICE. We are happy to visit with our customers for as long as it takes till the problem is solved once for all. We do give our customers a 90 days warranty on the servicing of their systems and we do ask them to give us a feed back. We do insist ,though, that our customers come and spend some 15 to 30 minutes prior to picking up their systems and check that all their applications are working and that all their documents are there before we wrap things up for them. If the customer takes his/her system to their home and plug as many components and then complain about the issue, this is something we have no control of but we will be happy to help solve the issue. Most of customers have been very happy with our post sale service and we do have their testimonies to back up our statement.
    7. We do thank for trusting us with your business and we are confident that we will be able to help your home business or office business grow as we do have the Information Technology expertise to help you speed up your workflow in order to generate more income for your business. Please feel free to contact us if you want to suggest anything to our Infotech Solutions approach. We will be emailing your similar letters on a quarterly basis. If you don’t wish to be part of our Infotech Customers list, please contact us and we will be happy to remove you from the list. This quarterly newsletter is more beneficial to our customers who do depend on their systems for either their work or for home entertainment. So thank you for taking the time to read it.
